Although the UK may not be part of the Unitary Patent, TLIP European Patent Attorneys remain ready to represent USA based, UK based and indeed all our client’s interests if and when it comes into operation. TLIP has offices in Cambridge, Leeds and Dublin and importantly Rights of Audience of TLIP European Patent Attorneys are unaffected by the Government’s decision. British companies and SMEs will still have the benefit of TLIP representation when litigating in the UPC.

The IP5 consists of five patent offices which together handle around 85% of the world’s patent applications. On the 15th and 16th of January 2020, representatives of the IP5 sat down to an inaugural meeting to discuss coordinating patent examination of New Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
