TLIP has a vacancy for a trainee patent attorney. You could be 1-3yrs into the profession already, perhaps working in-house as an IP manager, in private practice as a trainee or at university with an interest in commercialisation, start-ups and knowledge transfer. Whilst prior working experience in IP would be an advantage, we also encourage graduates (BSc, MSc or PhD) to apply for this role.
The role will suit anyone interested in a career as a patent attorney who has a background in physics, software, electronics or engineering. Knowledge of computer architecture, security protocols and the networked world of IoT would be an advantage.
Working on a 1:1 basis with a Director, you will immediately be involved in advocacy before patent offices, particularly those based in USA and Europe. Other work includes litigation, original patent drafting and, where appropriate, development of TLIP’s business objectives.
Based in Leeds.
